The standard among connections to accessories and transition pieces to steel / cast iron flanges
In the case of flange transition pieces to accessories with welding stub solutions from DN/OD 160 mm, large cross-section changes occur due to the flange joint dimensions and the plastic pipe dimensioning. Particularly for the installation of weld stubs, actuation problems can arise as a result of the displacement. The weld stub also tends to fail under full pressure.
With the special flange connection, Reinert-Ritz can solve these problems. This enables the pressure class-compatible connection of plastic pipes to accessories, with the same nominal size. Here the stub is designed as a fixed flange and fitted with a backing flange. This allows the accessory to be selected according to the nominal size of the pipe – one step fewer than in the case of a conventional loose flange connection, reducing the project costs and the risk of deposits.
The steel backing flange has a plastic coating that offers long-lasting protection against corrosion.
PE100 special flange
General preliminary remark
The fittings to be offered must be delivered as a set consisting of a welding stub and a backing flange adapted to the dimension.
The welding stubs must be manufactured from material in compliance with the PE100+ Association and according to DIN EN 12201 and DIN EN 1555 with respect to dimensions, tolerances and quality requirements.
The backing flanges must be manufactured from steel with a plastic coating in accordance with DIN EN 10310.
Proof must be provided that they were manufactured on the basis of a quality assurance system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.
For all fittings a certificate in accordance with DIN EN 10204 must be submitted by the manufacturer.
The body of the PE fitting must be manufactured in the injection moulding process or alternatively from a piece of homogeneous semi-finished material.
Semi-finished materials manufactured from wound rods or the subsequent application of other forms of reinforcing are not permitted.
The stub must be drilled following the hole pattern stipulated by DIN EN 1092-1 PN 10 or PN 16.
This way the bolt holes are closer to the outer pipe diameter.
The backing flange must exhibit the same hole pattern.
This enables transition with the same nominal diameter, e.g. to accessories or steel flanges.
The stub must be designed specifically for plastics so as to accommodate the correspondingly shaped backing flange and counteract deformation.
As a result, the flange connection is fully pressure-resistant according to the pipe dimensioning.
The stub must be fitted with an EPDM O-ring seal appropriate to the dimension.
The spigots must have a long shape to enable both HE butt welding and HW welding.
Optionally available versions: short shape for HE butt welding, design according to DIN EN 1092-1 PN 25, stainless steel backing flange, galvanised backing flange, flat sealing without groove and O-ring or with long holes in the PE stub for perfect alignment of the flanges or accessories.
